Pulling Up on the Right
Sometimes you’ll need to stop on the right-hand side of the road, for example when parking or turning around. Here’s how:
Steps
-
Check Mirrors and Signal
-
Check your rear and right mirrors.
-
Glance over your right shoulder.
-
Signal right.
-
-
Pick a Safe Spot
-
Avoid driveways, junctions, or busy spots.
-
Make sure there’s room for other vehicles to pass.
-
-
Slow Down
-
Brake gently.
-
Press the clutch (manual cars) as you slow.
-
-
Steer Right
-
Move carefully to the curb.
-
Keep a safe gap — don’t get too close or swing too wide.
-
-
Straighten Up
-
Line up parallel with the curb.
-
-
Secure the Car
-
Handbrake on.
-
Neutral (or park if automatic).
-
Cancel the signal.
-
-
Check and Adjust
-
Make small moves forward or back if needed.
-
Tips
-
Clutch control helps you stay smooth and precise.
-
Stay alert — watch for oncoming traffic and cyclists.
-
Practice on quiet roads before trying it in busier areas.
